EL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS
The students learned about the Mexican holiday of The Day of the Dead. They also examined the various patterns and decorations used in the sugar skulls art.
Working with cardboard they created a "bas -relief" skull, they used gesso and oil pastels to decorate.

Land art à la manière de Andy Goldworthy
The students learned about the contemporary art trend of using nature in nature. They examined various instalations and techniques used by British artist Andy Goldworthy. Working in teams, the students created their own Land art instalation.
Auto-portraits en contour solide
The students learned and practice various styles of contour drawing. They sketched their portraits using a solid contour (one solid line - don't pick up your pencil style). They traced their sketch with an ink pen and they used watercolors to splash a little color on them . Click here to see students' work

After leaning some of the techniques (traits brutes, jeux de lumière, couleurs pures) of the artists from the Fauviste art mouvement (Matisse, Braque, Derain,...) The

Si j'etais une créature
After looking at various animal characteristics, the students merged 2 to 3 animals to create their very own beast. They used acrylic paint and chalk to create texture and watercolor wash for the background. Click here to see student`s work
