Ce qu`on aime manger - À la façon de Warhol

After having studied Andy Warhol`s techique, the children created their own Popart piece​ by etching their picture onto scratch foam and stamping it several times.

                     En partant d'une craque...

 

The children learned and examined various MU Montreal displays.  They discussed how this organisation is taking art to the streets by changing and/modifying a specific environment.  The children then practiced this style of art by working with chalk and using a crack on our school playground to transform it into an art piece.

        Ã€ la manière de Thomas Lamadieu

 

As part of our ''Pensée créative unit'',the students learned about negative and possitive spaces.  They then examined the work of French artist Thomas Lamadieu and they had fun putting their creative brains to work as they trasformed various images of Montreal' skies into their very own pieces of art. click here to see exhibit

The students used the pointillism technique to produce their self portraits.

Autoportraits à la manière de CHUCK CLOSE

The children discovered the story and technique behind theAmerican artist Chuck Close.  By using a grid and color patterns they produced their very own portrait.

We learned about  self potraiture throughout history (Frida, Andy Warhol, Van Gogh, Da Vinci..).  We also learned and practice different techniques to draw faces.  We then traced our bodies, drew our face and colored ourselves with pastels.  Last, but not least we had fun posing with, well,  ourselves. Mosaïque inspirés par la nature

de Barcelone à FACE

The students learned about Antoni Gaudi' famous mosaiques in Barcelona, Spain.  They examined the relation between his various pieces of work and nature. The student then , created a mosaique piece inpired by the nature around them.

Où dans le monde est...

 

After learning about "Le plan d'image" (premier plan, deuxième plan et plan d'arrière),  the students created a three dimentional postcard of a place they would like to go to...  and of course they brought themselves there.

Sculptures Sportives

 

Inspired by their favorite sports, the students created wire sculptures.  They used shoe boxes to create the sculpture's surroundings.

Si j'etais une créature

After looking at various animal characteristics, the students merged 2 to 3 animals to create their very own beast.  They used acrylic paint and chalk to create texture and watercolor wash for the background.  Click here to see student`s work

The students learned about the life and art technique of New York artist Keith Haring.  They practiced how to add emotion and motion by the use of lines.  The children where then asked to illustrate the most important thing (for them)that makes F.A.C.E. school special. Here its is…

The students learned how to shade/color using patterns and lines.  After tracing their profiles, they played with monochromatic patterns to fill their heads....

Le Printemps à la manière de Georgia O'Keeffe

The students used a view finder to help them enlarge a part of a chosen flower.  They sketched it and traced their drawing with black glue. 

Finaly they used chalk pastels and their fingers to color their

beautiful creations.

The students researches a time era/period. Based on their research they designed a puzzle piece to represent their findings.
